‘The work of art is the outcome of a dialectic between the informing tradition and the individual genius of the artist and in both the relative strength of these two forces may vary infinitely.”  William Fagg.

The woodcarving traditions of Ekiti, in South West Nigeria represent one of the great artistic moments of world art history.  This project is dedicated to the recording of these works as well as to the artists of that tradition, many of whom are known by name.
